About the studio

We don't direct moments. We notice them

Amber Loft started in 2014, on the upper floor of a brick warehouse on SE Division, because we wanted somewhere honest to make pictures. No backdrops, no posing stools, no "chin down, eyes up." Just tall windows, a worn wood floor, and time.

A decade later, the work hasn't really changed. We photograph eighteen weddings a year — small enough to know every name, big enough to keep the lights on. In between, we open the studio for family sessions, brand portraits, and the occasional editorial. Whatever you came in for, the brief is the same: we'll watch closely, and we'll only press the shutter when something true is happening.

We believe the best photos are quiet ones. Photos you didn't perform for. Photos that show what the light was doing, and where everyone was looking, and how the room actually felt. Those are the ones you'll still want on the wall in twenty years.

  • We will never ask you to "act natural."
  • We shoot in the light the day gives us.
  • We deliver every frame worth keeping, edited but not retouched.
  • We say no to dates we can't show up for fully.
  • We print our own work, because pixels fade and walls don't.
